I’ve been making chaffles (cheese and egg waffles) for quite some time. I came across a few recipes using protein powder in place of cheese. I thought I would give it a try to see if I liked them better. Well they were amazing! I can imagine that results will be different depending on which protein powder one uses. I have some Tera’s Simply Pure, plain unsweetened whey powder on hand so this is where I started. I can see this recipe evolving using different flavorings or even flavored protein powder. Inspired? Protein Powder Waffles
Equipment
- waffle maker
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter melted
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 squirt vanilla stevia drops or 1 teaspoon Swerve sweetener
- 1 pinch salt
Notes
In a coffee cup or Pyrex measuring cup, melt butter in microwave. Let it cool slightly while you gather the other ingredients. Add 1 scoop of protein powder, egg, baking powder, a pinch of salt, and some sweetener. I used vanilla stevia drops. I plan to add some cinnamon or other flavorings in my next batch. I see endless possibilities with these.
